AMSOIL Chain Lube

AMSOIL Chain Lube is a high-performance lubricant specifically designed for chain-driven vehicles, offering superior wear protection, reduced chain stretch, and temperature reduction.

To apply Chain Lube effectively, start by thoroughly cleaning the chain using a degreaser or similar method to remove any dust, debris, and old lubricant. Next, direct a stream of Chain Lube onto the inside portion of the chain, ensuring complete coverage. Allow the lubricant to penetrate deeply into the pins and bushings. Finally, coat the outside of the chain to protect against rust and debris. To minimize fling-off, wipe off any excess overspray.

O-rings, X-rings, and Z-rings are different styles of ring seals used by chain manufacturers for the roller part of the chain. These rings serve two main purposes: to retain lubrication within the chain and to prevent contaminants from entering. While O-rings are the most common and durable, they also tend to generate more friction. X- and Z-rings, on the other hand, are designed to reduce friction and are often used in racing applications. The cross-section of an O-ring resembles an O, while an X-ring resembles an X. Chains with these ring seals are commonly found on on-road motorcycles.

In addition to the formulation of the chain lube, inadequate cleaning of dirt and old lubricant from the chain can increase the likelihood of fling-off. For optimal results, it is essential to thoroughly clean the chain before applying AMSOIL Chain Lube.

It is important to dispose of both used and unused product in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. AMSOIL Chain Lube is highly flammable and cannot be shipped via air freight or parcel post. Additionally, it is not available for sale in Canada. Yes, AMSOIL Chain Lube is specifically formulated to provide exceptional performance for chain-driven vehicles. It offers superior wear protection, reduces chain stretch, and minimizes operating temperatures. Extensive field testing has confirmed that when used as directed, Chain Lube does not fling off or attract dirt or debris. While products like Heavy Duty Metal Protector can still be used for chain lubrication, Chain Lube is the optimal choice for chain applications.

AMSOIL Chain Lube has a relatively clear appearance and provides a consistent spray pattern. It can be sprayed in any orientation for convenience. After approximately 15 minutes, the lube dries to a soft, waxy texture that is slightly tacky.

AMSOIL Chain Lube is available in 11-oz. aerosol spray cans, with six cans per case.

Chain Lube underwent rigorous testing and validation both in the field and in our mechanical lab, using both on-road and off-road motorcycles. Various parameters, such as the thickness of sprocket teeth, average pitch of the tooth, and overall chain length, were measured and recorded for each chain and sprocket pair combination. Additionally, the sprockets and chain were weighed before and after testing. The results demonstrated that AMSOIL Chain Lube provides exceptional protection against chain wear and stretch, as well as excellent resistance to fling-off.
